The king of beverages, the absolute star of the Coffee Zone

Coffee is the second most widely-drunk beverage in the world, after water, and the second most marketed commodity after oil. In Spain, the coffee sector is one of the most important driving forces of the hospitality industry, with more than 300,000 coffee outlets.

Spain is also the fourth biggest coffee buyer in Europe, and Barcelona has a huge number of cafés and coffee shops, and also enjoys recognition from LIFE and the exclusive NYBOT certification for the Mediterranean.

The Coffee Zone hosted the final of the National Barista Championship and the Grand Final of the Iberian Barista Championship for professionals from Andorra, Portugal and Spain.

There were also commented tasting sessions and training courses.
