Recovering a healthier pace of life is one of the reasons behind the upsurge in wellness establishment, which in Spain has now reached than eight hundred centres, including spa facilities (67%), urban and thermal spa resorts (31%) and thalassotherapy centres (2%). Just 10 years ago the total number of establishments barely reached 100.

After a surge of spectacular growth followed by an impasse due to the economic crisis, the sector is currently well on the way to recovery. Indeed, Spain currently holds sixth place on the world ranking behind the United States, Japan, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom, and ahead of France, Austria, Canada, etc.

Hostelco showed ideas that relate to the whole value chain of the product, from preliminary designs through to new business lines, including innovative solutions that guarantee energy efficiency to reduce costs and increase profitability.
