    Barcelona is The City of Prodigies. A city that, as in the work of Eduardo Mendoza, seems always full of wonders, where innovation, inspiration, culture, and gastronomy meet on every corner.

    Alimentaria is a reflection of Barcelona. Of its creative energy, of its endless curiosity, of its way of understanding cuisine as culture and as a driver of transformation. Celebrating Alimentaria’s 50th anniversary is celebrating a shared history: the one of a prodigious city that has never stopped looking ahead, and the one of a trade fair that has managed to accompany (and nourish) that vision.

    Through presentations and showcookings we will see how far this “city of prodigies” has come, a city that never stops reinventing itself. It will be a journey through the history, culture and flavour of Barcelona — a meeting point where tradition and modernity converge to narrate the transformation of the city through its flavours.

    Some of the protagonists are originally from Barcelona, while others have arrived from different parts of the world and have made Barcelona their gastronomic home.
